Welcome to the 2024 – 2025 school year!
I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. My name is Scott Meihack and I will be the principal this year at Sonoma Heights Elementary School. Mrs. Ashley Ramos will be our assistant principal. We look forward to meeting you, the Sonoma Heights Elementary School Families, as the new year begins.
It is with great anticipation and excitement that we begin this journey together, with a shared commitment to educational excellence and personal growth. As we move forward, we assure you that the well-being, safety, and educational progress of our students remain our top priorities. Sonoma Heights Elementary has implemented comprehensive measures and protocols to ensure a secure and conducive learning environment. Our dedicated team of educators and support staff continues to diligently prepare for the 24 - 25 academic year and will continue those efforts throughout the entire year.
We will continue to foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and respect within our school community. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere that you have known over the past several years will only continue to get stronger.
I encourage you to actively engage in your child’s education, maintain open lines of communication, and participate in school activities and events whenever possible. Together, we can provide the support and guidance our students need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff members should you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We value your feedback and are committed to continuous improvement.
Once again, welcome back to Sonoma Heights Elementary School. Let us embrace this new academic year with enthusiasm and a determination to achieve greatness. Together, we will overcome any obstacles, celebrate achievements, and create a thriving learning community where every student can flourish. Thank you for your unwavering support, and I look forward to a successful and rewarding year ahead.

Lowry's Drama and Stagecraft students performed Hansel and Gretel 17 times over the last five days. Audiences came from all three elementary schools, French Ford, Paradise Valley, Orovada, Denio, King's River, McDermitt, a group of home school students and the Lowry CLS students. Plus, they performed 3 evening plays. They ended up performing 3-4 plays every day. These students showed great resilience and talent! Our students thoroughly enjoyed the performances.

Please share and help us recruit some teachers for our open positions!

HCSD Pre-school registration for the 2024-2025 school year

The HCSD calendar committee is seeking your input as we build our next 3-year calendar cycle, which will begin with the 2024-25 school year. We are asking that you take the time to fill out these 2-3 short questions, so that we can elicit feedback in the building of our calendar options. This survey will remain open until February 21st. We will then gather the feedback, create calendar options, and send the calendars out for vote to all stakeholders. The final calendar will be submitted for board approval in March/April. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with the committee.
