WELCOME BACK!

On behalf of the entire staff of Albert M. Lowry High School I would like to welcome everyone back to school beginning on Tuesday-September 8th.  We have worked hard to ensure that Lowry High School is a safe and healthy place for our students, staff and visitors and we look forward to a great year.

In order to meet the directives of the Governor and the Nevada Department of Education we have developed a class schedule that will rotate groups every other day-each Friday will be used for planning, professional development and parent updates as to their students’ progress.  This schedule will allow for ½ of our student population to be in classrooms each day thus lowering our teacher to student ratio and assuring Covid-19 compliance.  Please know that wearing a mask is required and we will provide LHS “Buckaroo” masks to all students and staff.

Students will be divided into either our Blue Group: Attend school in person on Mondays & Wednesdays or into our Gold Group: Attend school in person on Tuesdays & Thursdays (No school on Fridays)

Those days that students are working from home will be considered our “Digital Learning Days” where students will work independently at home with the guidance of their teachers.  Lowry High School will also have our computer labs open and proctored Monday thru Thursday so that when students are on their “Digital Days” they have a place to work here at Lowry if they choose to do so.  Each Friday teachers will contact parents to give them updates as to their students’ progress.

Parents and Students will be notified via e-mail and Infinite Campus as to what group they are in and individual class schedules will be released on Tuesday-August 25th.  No schedule changes will be allowed as we have created a master schedule that meets the Covid-19 requirements.

Please note that due to our Tuesday-September 8th start date our schedule will be as follows for the first week:

Tuesday-9/8/2020: Gold Day

Wednesday-9/9/2020: Blue Day

Thursday-9/10/2020: Gold Day

Friday-9/11/2020: Blue Day

(We will then begin our Blue Days on Monday & Wednesday and our Gold Days on Tuesday & Thursday)

We are all very excited to get school going and look forward to having everyone back.  Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and for your patience as we work together to make this a positive and meaningful experience for our students.
